Article 230 of the 1866 Consular Regulations provides that every application submitted to the consul giving rise to proceedings be recorded in a special register by the chancellery officer.
This column-based register must contain:
- name, surname and residence of the applicant;
- name, surname and residence of the opposing party;
- subject or nature of the application or act;
- date of submission;
- supporting documents;
- measures issued by the consul;
- date and method of notification;
- subsequent measures.
For civil proceedings, only one index/register has so far been located.
