Scope and content
The office’s administrative and accounting management and staff management resulted in a body of records consisting of correspondence and registers.
Registers are predominantly preserved.
In addition to mail registers (1866 Consular Regulations, art. 79) and passport registers (ibid., art. 101), consuls must keep two general registers for the office’s accounts (ibid., art. 304): one for expenses reimbursable by the State, and the other for fees collected.
