The volumes record the service of documents.

The following columns are present:

  • number;
  • date of the act;
  • nature/subject of the act;
  • to whom and at whose request it is served;
  • date of service;
  • acknowledgement of service.

Registration constitutes the receipt for the act. Under Article 229 of the 1866 Consular Regulations, for a receipt to be valid it must contain:

  • what act was received;
  • the name of the person by whom the act is delivered or served;
  • the year, day, month and hour of delivery or service;
  • and the capacity of the person signing the receipt (whether the defendant themself or a relative/household member).
