Scope and content
The correspondence is organised into different sections, structured chronologically.
The first segment is extremely complex, as it entered the Historical Diplomatic Archive in a disorderly and fragmentary manner following multiple transfers. At the time of transfer, the papers were described only superficially, creating some confusion.
This section has not completely been arranged or inventoried and requires analytical intervention. Documentation in Arabic is numerous.
The subsequent sections, comprising records produced from 1915 onwards, are instead organised in predetermined positions.
The classification schemes applied from 1915 to 1924 are simple and consist of few entries.
From 1925 onwards, as in all consular offices abroad, the classification scheme approved in 1924 is used.
